Siren Eyes Makeup Tutorial

Every trend makes a comeback eventually. With Instagram and TikTok creators constantly scrambling to predict the next big thing, it's no surprise that we get new twists on old styles. Sleek fox eyes have been replaced as of late with something more dramatic- the siren eye. This look is characterized by winged liner and a sharp inner corner. It's meant to lift and lengthen the eye for a sultry, vixen look. There are all different styles of siren eyes out there, but I decided to go for a slightly smokey rendition. Here's my siren eyes makeup tutorial!

Here's What to Do:

1. Prep the area.

I used concealer to even out my skin and provide a nice base. Since we want the focus to be on the wing, it's good to remove any distractions. I also applied masking tape to serve as a guide for my wing. This is my FAVORITE way to get perfect wings with crisp lines every time!

To apply the tape, tear off a short piece and carefully hover it under your lower lashes. From here I like to tilt my head up but look down. This lets me place the tape with minimal creases in my eye. I line it up so it extends the waterline, which creates a lifting effect! Press the tape firmly onto your skin, paying special attention to smooth out any bubbles or creases along the top border.

2. Warm it up.

I applied a warm brown shadow to the crease of my eye. This is totally optional, but I like how it ties into my blush later on! It also helped blend out the wing. Make sure this crease shade is nice and blended out along the top. Don't worry about putting any color on your lid.

3. Build your wing.

It doesn't have to be perfect- this is only the first layer! Use an angled brush to apply a dark shadow (I used dark gray) along the lash line and up along the tape. As you get to the middle of the eye, try to keep the shadow thin and close to the lash line. I brought mine up too far at first, so I used a q-tip to take some pigment off.

4. Blend it out.

I used a firm round brush to diffuse the top of the dark shadow. I softened the harsh line, focusing most of my blending over the lid to keep the wing intact. This will help create a smoked out ombre effect.

I also used the angled brush from earlier to define my inner corner. I just dipped the brush in my shadow and pressed it onto my inner corner like a stamp. No drawing lines required!

5. Define the wing.

Pull out that angled brush again and dip into your darkest shadow. I used black. Staying close to the tape and your lash line, carefully define the bottom of the wing. This will complete the smokey gradient we're going for. If any lines are visible, wipe off your brush and gently blend them together.

Now it's time for the most satisfying part: peel that tape off and enjoy your pristine wing! If the tape let any little mistakes through, use some concealer or makeup remover on a q-tip to clean them up.

6. Bring it around the bottom.

To really define the eyes and get a sultry look, I mirrored the top lid under the eye. I applied black liner to the entire waterline. Using the same warm brown shadow from the start, I carefully blended it under the outer corner of the lash line. Finally, I used my angled brush to press a thin line of black shadow under the entire lower lash line.

7. Finish the look.

I finished my siren eye look off with some false lashes and lots of blush! I kept the rest of my face pretty simple to keep the focus on the eyes. A nude gloss and laminated brows tied it all together.

Aaaand you're done!

This look is smokey, bold, and perfect for adding a little drama to your life. For something a little softer, swap the black shadow for brown! The best part about makeup is that you can make it entirely your own.
