FabFitFun Summer Box Review

If you've been on the internet, you've probably seen an ad for FabFitFun. While I could spend forever talking about the community, the customization process, and the associated costs, I've decided to take a simpler route! The last box I received was the summer 2022 box, so I'll break down what I got and what I think of it now that I've tried it all out. Let's get started! This is my FabFitFun summer box review!

What I Got

Samara Shoulder Bag - $125
I wanted to love this bag so much. SO MUCH. It's a gorgeous color, a great size, and I love that the walls are stiff and hold their shape. It fits tons of stuff, has an adjustable strap, and can be snapped close at the top. Seems perfect, right?

BUT.

It's terrible quality. After a few gentle uses, the pink coating ("vegan leather") started to peel off on the bottom corner. After closer inspection, it was peeling on the strap too! When I say gentle, I mean this bag never even touched the ground. I was super disappointed that a supposedly $125 bag couldn't hold up to a single Homegoods run. I'd say this is $15 Target quality.

OUAI Scalp & Body Scrub - $38
YES. Yes a million times over. This scrub smells fantastic- very expensive, like a day at a fancy spa. The texture is honestly good enough to eat. It melts so beautifully but maintains enough texture to give you a good scrub. I'm honestly a little sad since I love this so much. My wallet won't be happy when I run out.

First Aid Beauty Ingrown Hair Pads & KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub - $40
Both these products went viral on TikTok, and for good reason. They've both got that nice balance of "effective but gentle". I especially love the ingrown treatment! It helps so much with the weird hair nubs I get after my laser treatments.

TULA Skincare Protect + Glow Daily Sunscreen Gel SPF 30 - $36
I'm conflicted on this one. The texture is super weird- it comes out a bit like a whipped cottage cheese (that's the best I can do, sorry), chunks included. It melts nicely into the skin and doesn't pill or leave a whitecast, which I love! There's also no typical sunscreen smell.

Unfortunately I'm not a fan of how "glowy" it makes me. Honestly, in warm weather, I just look greasy. I find myself dabbing setting powder around the center of my face, which is way more high-maintenance than I want to be. I've been keeping this one for dog walks, gym trips, and other activities where I don't mind embodying a Beacon of Gondor.

Lasting Smiles Soy Candle -Sea Salt and Citrus - $45

This candle smells really nice! Perfect for summer. It does smell beachy, but I don't really pick up any citrus in there. The throw is okay and it's burned evenly so far. It is pretty small, so I'd expect to pay $5 for this at TJ Maxx.

Cuccio Naturale Milk & Honey Cuticle Oil - $17.95
This product has been a rollercoaster. I wasn't that excited to see it in my box until I actually got it and realized: how large the bottle is; how nice it smells; and that it is a legit brand available at Ulta. My nails are always ravaged by my impatience, so a good cuticle oil is just what I need.

This one is okay. The oil is very liquidy- so much that two drops for each hand is more than enough. It's not the most moisturizing or nourishing formula either. I like to apply a thicker treatment and seal it in with this one.

One great thing about it? It's perfect for removing gel nail stickers like these ones.

Virgina Wolf Multi Wear Wrap - $60
Decided I needed this one after seeing a post on reddit of a woman wearing it as a skirt. After a little trial and error, I found that I don't know how to tie the wrap in a way that is both flattering and appropriate to wear out of the house. It might be staying as a swimsuit coverup for now.

On the plus side, it's a gorgeous pattern and the fabric is soft and high quality. It's pretty big- I could even see this as a tablecloth on a smaller table. Lots of possibilities!

Bonus Item - Silicone Shower Body Scrubber - $15
This got thrown into everyone's box as a random overstock item. It's a cool idea, but I have better scrubbers. It's very flimsy and tough to hold onto. It doesn't really stick to my shower wall as advertised- it does a slow, sad slide to the bottom. I've been using it to scrub the shower while I'm in there.

That's it!

That's everything I got in my FabFitFun summer box. This box had lots of items that I feel are usable in my day-to-day life, which I appreciate. I'm a little tired of getting skincare items, so hopefully they start to shift away from that in future boxes!
