New Launches from Milk Makeup

Milk Makeup is iconic and has BEEN iconic. Their mini Hydro Grip Primer was one of the first high-end makeup products I ever bought! So of course I was excited to receive a package of some old favorites and their newest launches: the Hydro Grip 12HR Gel Tint, a Balmade Electrolyte Lip Balm, and the intriguing Cooling Water Jelly Ice. I've been trying everything out and wear testing it to give you the best, most accurate reviews possible. This is not sponsored and I receive no commissions from this post. So let's take a look at these new launches from Milk Makeup!

Hydro Grip 12HR Gel Tint

This skin tint pleasantly surprised me! When I first apply it feels sticky, streaky, and difficult to manage. Trust the process. It quickly melts into the skin and gives a smooth, tacky, and slightly dewy finish. It definitely lives up to the name- the skin tint feels hydrating and grippy. Streaks or patches are easily patted away with the fingers. It does cling a bit to dry patches, but this is unfortunately a trait that every skin tint seems to share. The tint takes a while to dry down fully so I'd suggest setting it in some way before moving on with your routine. It stays in place nicely on its own but is not transfer-proof. I used shade 4. It is available on Milk's website for $38. This one costs a pretty penny but could definitely be worth it for the right person. Snag a sample and give it a try!

Here is a swatch and how it looks on my face:

Balmade Electrolyte Lip Balm

This is a nice lip balm, but nothing special. I have shade Pump which smells (and tastes!) like apricot, which is fun! The tint doesn't really show up on me and it's definitely not "high-shine" like the packaging suggests. But it's also comfortable to wear and not sticky at all. It migrates under my lips a bit after several hours of wear but it's simple enough to wipe the offending product away. It's overall a fine balm! I'd like to try other shades and see if they're more visible on the lips. This balm is available for $18 from Milk themselves, which feels pretty overpriced to me. You can get similar balms for cheaper.

Cooling Water Jelly Ice

I was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I do! It's smooth and very cooling on the skin. Swipe the stick over your skin and you're done- no need to pat or rub it in. It leaves a slightly tacky finish. It leaves my skin feeling cool and refreshed. I love the idea of a skincare stick and Milk did a great job with this one! Plus the jelly texture is SO fun. It'll cost you $29 from Milk's website. A little of this product does go a long way, so it seems like an okay value for a skincare product.

Familiar Best Sellers

Milk also sent me a few of their well-loved best sellers. Two of them were new to me, including the viral jelly blush, so I was super excited to give everything a try!

Cooling Water Jelly Tint

This product (shade Splash) and I got off to a bad start. It has Milk's classic twist off plastic cap, which I diligently twisted off. But there was a bit of liquid product (did it melt? where did this come from??) that dribbled out and dripped onto my seat cushion. This is a product designed to stain so I don't have high hopes for getting the bright pink splotch out. Ugh. It seems like I'm not the only one who has issues with this product leaking- it's not travel friendly.

The stick itself was also very wet upon first applying. One dot of the stick deposited more product than I needed. I promptly stained my fingertips in my rush to blend it and wipe away the excess. It stains very quickly- I'd suggest using a brush to blend. It did, however, blend really nicely! Blushes are notorious for fading quickly but this one sticks around. It gives such a pretty, radiant flush. I reach for this more than I thought I would, but am very careful on how I store it. It will never get thrown in my makeup bag or packed for travel. See below for the aftermath of my first encounter with this product. This blush will run you $26.

Sculpt Stick

Once again, Milk's packaging has come back to bite it. The instructions say to twist the plastic cap off the top of the makeup stick. But the product itself was firmly stuck to the cap and just twisted with it. Pulling the cap just pulled the entire makeup stick up. Why?? I finally pried the cap off and lost a pretty minimal amount of product, which I'll consider a win.

Now, I'm not a huge contour girlie. I prefer a sunny, bronzed look over a sculpted one. But I can definitely appreciate a TRUE cool toned contour! This one is creamy and easy to blend- just make sure you don't accidentally blend it all away. I used shade Toasted. It's available for $24.

Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray

I've loved this stuff for a long time. It's refreshing, cooling, and doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or dry. My biggest gripe is that the mister always gets clogged. I've had several bottles and never gotten through one without the mist turning into a jet stream. That aside, I love the hydrating finish of this spray! It smells a bit weird but 'tis the nature of clean beauty. A full sized bottle costs $38 (ouch) but there are mini versions as well.

So, what do you think?

Do any of these new launches catch your eye? I definitely love the Hydro Grip 12HR Gel Tint the most. It's been great for summer weather. Would you try any of these?

Let me know if you have any questions about anything! I am always happy to help however I can.

Thank you so much for reading. I'll see you soon!

xoxo,

Lindsay
