FabFitFun Fall 2022 Unboxing and Reviews

Hey friends! I recently received my fall box from FabFitFun. As an annual subscriber, I got to customize all six categories in my box. To be honest, I wasn't super thrilled with the customization options this season. While I'm still happy with what I ended up getting myself (and many other FFF subscribers) felt that this box was thrown together and full of leftovers. Poor curation aside, I did get a few items I'm excited about. Let's dive right in to this FabFitFun Fall 2022 Unboxing!

I also uploaded a video of this unboxing to my YouTube channel. If you'd rather watch than read, feel free to check it out below!

Customized Items

Here's what I selected in each customization category. I won't list all the items I passed on, but you can check them out here.

Category 1

My choice: Phantom Chef Fry Pan

Why I picked it: This pan was a throwback item from a past box. Because of this I'd seen tons of posts from people who were really happy with the pan and surprised with the quality. After reading tons of reviews, I decided another 8-inch pan would do my kitchen good. I liked the color and the wood-style handle.

What I think so far: While I haven't given the pan the ultimate test of scrambled eggs yet, I did make some fried rice in it last night. There was no weird smell upon heating it for the first time and the handle stayed nice and cool. So far so good!

Category 2

My choice: Glossier Future Dew

Why I picked it: Glossier is such an iconic brand, and Future Dew has been at the forefront of the "my skin but better" trend. I'd heard Future Dew compared to the Dew Drops from Glow Recipe, which I like, but are usually too heavy for my morning skin routine. I definitely wanted to see what the hype about this serum was!

What I think so far: This is a pretty nice serum. It made my skin look healthy and glowy without making me shiny, which is not easy to achieve. Despite being an "oil" the serum didn't leave my skin feeling heavy or greasy. The serum itself was much thicker than I was expecting, but one pump still covered my whole face. It's not as shimmery as the Glow Recipe Dew Drops, but I actually like that. It's more of a lit from within, healthy skin look than anything. Pretty awesome! I'm really enjoying the Future Dew so far!

Category 3

My choice: Necessaire "The Body Wash" in Eucalyptus

Why I picked it: Necessaire is a super popular luxury brand, and this body wash is one of their best sellers. While I wasn't really dying for a new body wash, I also wasn't thrilled by any of the other options. I figured now would be as good a time as ever to give this brand a try.

What I think so far: I wasn't so sure about the scent at first. It smelled more like essential oils than fresh eucalyptus to me. But once I used it in the shower, I was sold. It smells like a spa! Super relaxing and not overpowering. The lather was sudsy and gentle on my skin. The bottle is a soft, almost silicone-like plastic. The lid twists and dispenses product right out of the cap. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for sales on this one, especially if it comes in other scents.

Category 4

My choice: The Lyfestyle Co. Natural green Tea + Ale Body Polish

Why I picked it: There weren't any other items liked or needed. I figured at least this product could be used up rather than something like a makeup brush set or vegetable chopper (other options).

What I think so far: I can't believe that they claim scrub this would be worth $45- it's a tiny little container made from super cheap plastic. I could hardly get the lid back on because it's all so poorly made. The scrub itself is fine, nothing special. The scrubbing granules are pretty fine and my skin was left feeling moisturized and smooth. I'm honestly not impressed, but the small amount of product means this one will be gone soon.

Category 5

My choice: Wool Drier Balls from TO THE MARKET

Why I picked it: This is the item I was most excited for! I've been dying to get my hands on some wool drier balls. I gave up drier sheets years ago but have been putting off purchasing these for some unknown reason. Now I don't have to! Wool drier balls naturally fluff and de-static your clothes without leaving a residue or going straight into the trash (like traditional drier sheets).

What I think so far: I actually haven't gotten a chance to use these yet, but I am impressed at how dense and sturdy the balls seem. They came in a little drawstring bag which unfortunately did not survive my dog's case of the zoomies last night.

Category 6

My choice: Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser

Why I picked it: I'm still on the lookout for my holy grail cleanser, and this one had really good reviews at Sephora.

What I think so far: First of all, I love the bottle. It's heavy frosted glass with a sturdy pump. Good packaging is always a good sign! The cleanser smells a little weird, but I love how it lathered on my skin. It got sudsy, but not sudsy enough that I was snorting bubbles. My skin was left feeling clean but not stripped or tight. My skin is super easily over-stripped so I love when a cleanser is the perfect balance of "clean" and "gentle". This one is a winner!

Add-Ons

I did shop the Add-On sale this time around, so I snagged a few extra items for my box. They were:

  • Frye Leather Card Case: Love the pink color. I thought it would be useful for times I don't want to take my entire wallet, plus it matches the purse from last season's box.
  • Saalt Period Undies: I've never tried these, but they were a great deal. First time for everything!
  • Hero Mighty Patches: One of my favorite skincare items. I always order more when I run low.
  • MILK Pore Eclipse Mattifying Primer: Heard a ton about this on instagram, so I snagged it for the sale price!

That's my box!

Despite some lackluster choices, I'm still happy with the items I got. I do wish that the fall box was more curated for the season and that they didn't include so many throwback or past sale items. The winter box is my last box before my subscription goes up for renewal, so unless they really step up their game for next season, I"ll probably be taking a break from FabFitFun.

Based on my box, what do you think? Would you give FabFitFun a try? Check it out for yourself (and get $10 off your first box) here.

If you have any questions about his box, past boxes, or FabFitFun in general, feel free to reach out to me here or on any of my socials.

As always, thank you so much for reading. I'll see you soon!

xoxo,

Lindsay
