Klairs Sunscreen Review: All-day Airy Sunscreen

If you're anything like me, life is an endless hunt for good sunscreens. Everything changed for the better once I started exploring Korean and Japanese products- I think four out of five of my all-time favorite sunscreens are Asian beauty brands!

Today I'll be reviewing a Korean sunscreen by Klairs, one of my favorite a-beauty brands. This is the All-day Airy Suncreen. It's a relatively new launch that's been allllll over Instagram recently. Let's take a closer look in this Klairs sunscreen review!

Simple but aesthetic packaging!

Texture

The sunscreen is super light and "airy" for sure. It's not greasy or watery. It feels like a moisturizer, so it's probably best for those with normal or dry skin. I have dry skin and can usually skip my (light) morning moisturizer when I use this. It feels like a silky and cooling gel. Very cosmetically elegant!

Finish

This product didn't leave any whitecast on me. It dried down to a slightly dewy, radiant finish. Somehow I look glowy without looking greasy, which doesn't usually happen for me with sunscreens! It soaked in really quickly and applied easily. It didn't take excessive amounts or rubbing or start to dry before I was finished.

Wear

While the sunscreen initially goes on great, I've noticed that it has a tendency to pill. I have a hard time keeping my hands off my face, so I really started to notice it by the end of the day. It also can pill upon reapplication if you rub too much. It's not the best base for makeup, either- keep this one for your bare (or minimal makeup) days.

The Klairs All-Day Airy Sunscreen bottle leans against an arm. The product is swatched on the arm. It's a white, slightly liquidy cream.
Here is a look at the texture of the sunscreen.

Sun Protection

The UV protection was rated by three different clinical trial institutions to confirm the SPF and PA ratings. The sunscreen is rated as SPF50+ and PA++++. After issues in the past with inconsistent SPF ratings (read the official statement from Klairs here), this product is a breath of fresh air.

More Details

My favorite part about this product? No overbearing sunscreen smell! In fact, it doesn't really smell like anything. This is great for those with sensitive skin or anyone who doesn't enjoy smelling like a day by the pool.

This sunscreen is also cruelty-free and vegan. It's free of essential oils and contains no artificial fragrances or colors. For a full list of ingredients, please see here.

Final Thoughts

This sunscreen is a great formula. It feels like nothing on the skin, sinks in like a dream, and leaves absolutely no whitecast. The only downside is the pilling. If you're great at keeping your hands off your face or just looking to wear it for a few hours rather than all day, this sunscreen could be a great option for you! If not, the hunt continues.

So, what do you think? Would you give the All-day Airy Sunscreen a try?
